New Dark Angel Premiers

The first issue of Dark Angel: Phoenix Resurrection ships this Friday and goes on sale the week of July 4th. It will ship with two covers, both by Kia Asamiya himself, divided in a 50/50 split. Phoenix Resurrection, published by Image Comics, will be the first color manga series to appear in the US in over 10 years, and will be the first ever manga series released in the US specifically created in color. Kia Asamiya has specifically created this revision of his Dark Angel story for the American market, drawing the story in American-style left to right panel lay-out instead of Japanese right to left, and drawn the entire series without using any typical manga screen-tone or shading techniques to allow for the coloring process.
