New Anime on the Horizon

The latest Newtype Magazine provides previews of several new anime series in the works for Japanese release. New TV series due to appear within the next few months include

• Homura – a children’s samurai adventure story
• Strange Dawn – a sci-fi comedy coming to WOWWOW
• Hand Maid Mei – another WOWWOW series about a 1/6 scale anime girl model kit that comes to life

New OAVs on the way include

• Geobreeders 2 – a new four episode series that premiers on July 26
• eX-D (X-Driver) – a stand-alone sci-fi OAV that appears to be a female version of Initial D
• Space Travelers – a 50 minute OAV, due out on June 23, based on the recent Japanese Space Travelers live-action movie
