Namco Announces New Games for 2001

To offset announcements of 250 layoffs and less than anticipated annual sales due to poor sales of Playstation 2 games, Namco of Japan publicly announced to stockholders, at the end of February, that a dozen new games are currently in development for release to either the Playstation 2 or PS2 arcade hardware this year including Soul Calibur 2, Tekken 4 (which will finally feature an entirely new graphics engine), Ace Combat 4, new sequels to Mr. Driller, Moto GP and Ridge Racer, several sports games, two RPGs, and the light-gun shooting game Vampire Night.
