Mushishi Special to Air Next Year

Next year’s two-chapter revival of Yuki Urushibara’s award-winning manga Mushishi will get an hour-long TV special adaptation. Hiroshi Nagahama and Yoshihiko Umakoshi who directed and charater designed the acclaimed 2005 anime TV series will reunite at studio Artland to produce the Mushishi Tokubetsu-hen: Hihamukage (Mushishi Special: Sun-Eating Shade) special that will air on January 4. Urushibara’s two-chapter supplemental story will be published in the January and February issues of Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine. Urushibara’s Mushishi manga originally serialized from 1995 until 2008.
