MSNBC Discusses Sexuality Among Otaku

Journalist Brian Alexander has composed a provocative introduction to issues of sexuality within the Japanese and American anime/manga fan community for MSNBC. The article takes an open-minded yet obviously “outsider” approach to the subject that seems transitional between traditional American misunderstanding of the otaku subculture and recognition of the movement’s post-modern ideology.

Otaku USA magazine editor-in-chief Patrick Macias, who is quoted in Alexander’s article, reports on his personal page that his remarks have been misquoted in the article.
