Monthly Shonen Jump to End?

Anime News Service has published an unconfirmed and uncited report that Shueisha’s Monthly Shonen Jump Magazine, which has been in circulation since 1969, will cease publication indefinitely beginning this June. The hiatus is blamed on declining sales. Reportedly the magazine’s readership in 2006 numbered around 420,000, down from its height of 1.4 million readers in 1989. Monthly Shonen Jump is the sister publication to the more popular Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine.
