Miyazaki’s New Film Breaks Records

Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, (“Sen and Chihiro Spirited Away”) opened in Japanese theaters on July 20th and drew a 20% larger audience than Mononoke Hime did on its release day. Reportedly 700 people camped out overnight at the Hibiya Sukara-Za theater in Tokyo the night before to be able to see one of the film’s earliest screenings the following day.
