Michelle Yeoh Possibly in Matrix Sequels

Variety Magazine reports that Warner Brothers is trying to sign Michelle Yeoh (Supercop, Tomorrow Never Dies, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) to co-star in the second and third Matrix movies. Yeoh has apparently been offered the role originally intended for Jet Li. Universal offered Li $3 million to appear in the two films, which would’ve been a sizable pay-cut for the Lethal Weapon 4 star, who is commanding a 9.5 million dollar salary for his next action film, The One. Unable to come to a satisfactory monetary arrangement with Universal, Li eventually turned down the job.
