Media Blasters Announcements from Katsucon

Media Blasters has licensed the translation rights to the eX-Driver OAV series created by Kousuke Fujishima, creator of Ah! My Goddess and You’re Under Arrest.

The dubbed versions of both Ys OAV series will have newly recorded music and sound effects as the original, separate audio masters have been lost over the years in Japan. The Japanese language version will retain the complete original Japanese audio track.

Plans for an American television broadcast of Berserk were quickly killed (no pun intended) as the series contains so much graphic violence that editing it out wouldn’t leave enough running time to make up a single episode.

The first DVD volume of Berserk will be released in two formats: disc only, and disc with slipcase sized to hold all 5 DVDs. Details on the DVD slipcase have not been clarified yet.
