Martial Arts Movie News

Variety reports action star Jackie Chan will appear in the tentatively titled feature film The Highbinders, which is scheduled to start shooting next September in Australia. Before he heads Down under, though, Chan will first star in the sequel to Rush Hour, which begins filming in November.

Ain’t it Cool News has posted some big news on the live action Tekken movie. Namco is going to sue Stareastnet.com for using the character names and title in “The Legend of Tekken” from the popular video game “Tekken” without their permission. The movie’s producer Wong Jing has explained that the movie has nothing to do with the video game and has already renamed the film “God of Fist’s Style”. Wong Jing, known as the action-comedy king of Hong Kong, ran in to similar trouble several years ago with his film Future Cops, which obviously used characters “inspired” by the Street Fighter II video game franchise.
