Maiden Japan Acquires Love♥Love?

Maiden Japan has acquired the domestic distribution rights to the 13-episode (9 broadcast, 13 home video) 2004 television series Love♥Love? The romantic comedy is the concluding third of studio m.o.e’s “Metamorphosis” trilogy of anime TV series that included Cosprayers & Hit o Nerae! The Cosprayers TV series was a fictional bishoujo superhero show. Hit o Nerae! depicted the behind-the-scenes life of the producer for the Cosprayers TV series. Love♥Love? depicts the stumbling romantic relationship between the lead actress of Cosprayers & the show’s screenwriter. Maiden Japan will release the series digitally and on subtitled DVD.

Sadly, this acquisition doesn’t make much sense. All three of these shows were intentionally terrible in order to create a satirical gag about foisting bad anime onto unsuspecting viewers. The three shows are pretty awful, yet just getting the third one without the earlier two doesn’t even create the whole satirical effect.
