Lychee Light Club Live-Action Movie Announced

Ohta Publishing has formally announced word that Usamaru Furuya’s acclaimed 2005-2006 horror manga Lychee Light Club will be getting a live-action feature film adaptation. Furuya’s manga, based on a stage play by the Tokyo Grand Guignol troupe, is the story of high school boys who create a robot powered by Lychee fruits. The robot develops sentience becomes, “capable of measuring beauty and executing justice.” The manga was adapted into a Flash animation parody TV series and a new stage play (pictured above) last year.
