Live Action Cromartie High School Movie Announced

According to Animaxis, director Yuudai Yamaguchi will helm a live action film adaptation of Eiji Nonaka’s bizarre “serious gag manga” Sakigake!! Cromartie High School. Main character Takashi Kamiyama will be played by “Masked Rider Ryuuki” star Takamasa Suga, with former pro boxer and “Last Samurai” supporting actor Mitsuki Koga as his mohawk-sporting friend Shinjirou Hayashida. Muscular actor Hiroyuki Watanabe will be portrating the crucial role of Queen vocalist lookalike Freddy. And car-sick tough guy Takenouchi will be played by professional wrestler Yoshihiro Takayama.

The Cromartie High School anime TV series has been licensed for American release by AD Vision.
