Latest 009 RE:CYBORG Teaser Released
Production I.G & SANZIGEN Animation Studio have released a new teaser trailer for director Kenji Kamiyama’s upcoming CG anime film 009 RE:CYBORG. However, the new trailer doesn’t appear to include any new, previously unreleased footage.
This latest anime adaptation of Shotaro Ishinomori’s classic 1964 manga Cyborg 009 will tentatively open simulataneously in theaters in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea this fall.

This looks interesting.
Finally, Japan’s starting to get the hang of straight CG animation and anime stylization is coming together in CG.
I liiked the Appleseed CG film I saw a while back (the first film). I prefer character-stylization as opposed to straight, realistic human rendering.
On the other hand, too much of the animation itself seems to be automated on the principle of “broken bones/loose limbs”. I guess that’s a problem when the animators have had a traditional of mainly limited versus full animation…
At least it’s not all buddy films…
