LA Times Talks Tenchi

The LA Times newspaper has printed an article about Tenchi Muyo titled “Just a Shy Guy Out to Save Earth–While Dodging Space Babes: Television / Video * The popularity of “Tenchi Muyo!,” a quirky anime series, translates easily from Japan to the U.S.” The article does a very good job of outlining the series’ plot as well as its translation to the US, both in dubbing, and in content editing, for Cartoon Network. It even explains the digital painting of swimsuits in the hot spring episode. This is no real news for anime fans, but it is pleasing to see such a well researched article in a major periodical.
