Jin-Roh Announced for Japanese DVD Release

Production IG has released details for the upcoming Japanese home video release of Jin-Roh. A rental only VHS version and special edition DVD version will be released in Japan on December 21st. A limited edition laser disc version will be released on January 25th. The special edition DVD version will feature DTS sound, staff interviews, a portfolio of art and storyboards, a preview of Mamoru Oshii’s latest film, the live-action/CG Avalon, Jin-Roh theatrical trailers, and a 20 page booklet. The DVD edition will only be available in Japan for one year and will retail for 12,800 yen, or roughly $125 dollars American. For collectors, the laser disc version will be a highly limited edition. Only one pressing will be produced based on pre-order quantities. Pre-orders will be cut-off on December 13th. The CLV format disc will retail for 9,800 yen.
