ImaginAsian Licenses Three Anime Series

ImaginAsian Entertainment, owner and operator of the iaTV network, has announced its acquisition of American distribution rights to the 1977 Ie Naki Ko (“Nobody’s Boy Remi”), 1983 Super Dimension Century Orguss, and the first season of the 1983 Cat’s Eye anime television series. All three series will be subtitled and broadcast daily on iaTV beginning June 5th.

Each of the three series will be available on commercial DVD exclusively through ImaginAsian. Individual volume DVDs will be available for a limited time, and will be custom pressed to order. Each 8 DVD series will have a $12.99 first volume that includes a case designed to hold all 8 volumes. Following volumes will retail at $9.99 and will be delivered in Tyvec sleeves. Complete series sets will be available following the release of the individual volumes.

The DVD releases of Cat’s Eye and Nobody’s Boy Remi will be subtitled only. The first 17 episodes of Orguss will be bilingual, offering the English dub produced by US Renditions in the early 1990s but never previously released on domestic DVD.

“If the program is successful, we plan on bringing over other forgotten anime classics,” said David Chu, senior VP of Programming and Production at ImaginAsian.
