Harvey Weinstein Defends Miramax

Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of Miramax Films, has published a public letter defending Miramax Films’ committment to the American and worldwide distribution of Asian films. Weinstein calls the disappointing American theatrical release of Shaolin Soccer a “misstep” and assures readers that Miramax has, “…always tried to expand the boundaries of film and broaden the audience for non-Hollywood fare, not ghettoize it.”
