HanTsuki Domestic Release Uncertain

Georgia-based anime licensor Crimson Star Media is tentatively scheduled to release its first domestic DVD release, Looking Up At The Half-Moon (Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora), on September 27. The definitive release of the title is now in question since Crimson Star Media’s founder & CEO Corey Maddox was arrested on July 25 on charges of violating his parole sentence for a 2008 conviction for sexual exploitation of children. In 2008 Maddox was found in posession of photographs of children “that appeared to be sexual in nature.”

HanTsuki translator Neil Nadelman reports that Crimson Star Media’s license to the show was formalized with Japan’s Pony Canyon media licensor, and that the domestic DVD release still has a chance of seeing a belated domestic commercial release.
