Godzilla x Megaguirus has opened in Japan to very positive fan reactions. Kaijufan has posted an initial reaction that says “It rocked! Maybe the 3rd or 4th best of the Heisei series! It has the most on-screen monster action since Mechagodzilla [Godzilla Vs mechagodzilla, 1993]. The special effects are of course within the usual range of quality, but it was really fresh, action packed and fun! …Godzilla does some outrageous things, like we haven’t seen since he flies in Hedorah [Godzilla Vs the Smog Monster, 1972]. …Overall this movie rocked! It won’t make any money at the boxoffice we know, but it was [a] very entertaining and enjoyable Godzilla film.”
