Gonzo Announcements

Gonzo Digimation Holdings has issued two press announcements translated into English.

Gonzo has announced that its anime film “Origin-Spirit of the Past” (Gin-iro no Kami no Agito) has been nominated for the best film prize in the long film section of the 30th annual Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The other films nominated in the same category are director Tsutomu Mizushima’s xxxHOLiC: Manatsu no Yoru no Yume, Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Christian Volckman’s French sci-fi noir Renaissance, and French adventure comedy Asterix & the Vikings.

Gonzo has also announced a partnership with South Korean film production company MK Pictures to produce movies, TV dramas and animation. The first production from the partnership will be a live action TV series and a separate direct-to-DVD series based on the hit 1999 Korean action film Swiri (released in America by Sony Pictures under the name “Shiri”).
