Godzilla Goes For Guinness

After encouragement from fans, Toho Studios submitted their Gojira (Godzilla) movie series to the Guinness Book of World Records on January 5th, presumably for consideration as the longest continuous feature film series. Toho Studios has produced 24 Godzilla movies in the past 46 years, from the first film in 1954, to Godzilla Vs Megaguirus, which is in Japanese theaters now. And there are already plans for at least two more Gojira films in the works. Godzilla’s nearest competitor, James Bond, who has the same number of movies, premiered in theaters three years after the first Godzilla film.
