Georgia’s Japan Fest to Include Anime

Japan Fest, Georgia’s Japanese cultural festival, will be opening up in 2008 with its first ever anime programming. There will be anime screenings handled by Atlanime, a Georgia-based anime fanclub, as well as trivia contests, fan panels, and more. The festival is set for Sep. 27-28 at the Gwinnett Center Convention Center in Duluth, Georgia.

Japan Fest is a festival celebrating Japanese history and culture organized and managed by The Japan-America Society of Georgia, The Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, and the Consultate General of Japan. Japan Fest features art classes, martial arts exhibitions, imported goods, and more.

The Atlanime anime fanclub is based in Atlanta, Georgia, with branches in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. For over 6 years, Atlanime has hosted 100+ local otaku who gather monthly to see the latest in anime, and take part in local fan events.
