Gamers Suffers Financially

Japanese character merchandising company Broccoli, the company behind Di-Gi-Charat and Galaxy Angel, has been suffering decreased sales revenue in Japan for some time now. As of January 15th, Broccoli closed its 9 year old Gamers retail store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The closing is called temporary, but no re-opening date has been announced. Broccoli expects to have a deficit of nearly $12 million (1,365,000,000 yen) for its 2005 fiscal year, which ends in February 2006.
