At this past weekend’s AnimeNext convention, FUNimation announced its acquisition of distribution rights to Gonzo Studio’s first theatrical anime film “Origin – Spirits of the Past” (Gin-iro no Kami no Agito). FUNimation plans to release the film on American DVD early next year.

FUNimation confirmed that, due to copyright issues, the American release of Speed Grapher will not include Duran Duran’s song “Girls on Film,” which was used as the opening theme for the Japanese TV and DVD release of the show. The “new” American series opening is available on the official American Speed Grapher website.
