FUNimation Acquires Gad Guard
FUNimation has announced its acquisition of distribution rights to the Gad Guard anime television series. The 2003 series is the second former Geneon title that FUNimation has announced acquisition of this week.
Looks like Vandread, Soul Eater, X TV series or Last Exile (or both), Gankutsuou, and Oh! Edo Rocket are among the anticipated upcoming announcements. While it will be nice to see Gad Guard back in circulation, it’s still not an especially exciting announcement.

It would be great to see Gankutsuou and a variety of other high drama/action anime (ROD the TV, Paranoia Agent, Kannazuki no Miko) that Geneon distributed, get back in circulation… although my personal bias would prefer lesser-known titles, like Melody of Oblivion or Rumiko Takahashi Anthology, get another shot at fan interest. Or how about Cybuster? I haven’t completed my Cyberster collection yet, woe is me…
