Dub Director Passes Away

Right Stuf International has the following to say about the passing away of English dub director Michael Alben.

TRSI is saddened to report that Michael Alben, the voice director for the dubbed Record of Lodoss War and other English-language anime adaptations, recently passed away.

“It’s a shock. It hits home. The engineer and I probably were the last two people to see him alive,” Jeff Thompson, TRSI’s chief designer and production manager said.

The day after a recording session, Alben was driving to work, stopped at a service station and “just died,” according to Thompson, who was working with Alben on an upcoming TRSI title.

Alben is survived by a wife and three children. All of us at TRSI mourn Michael’s passing.
