Disney to Distro Kaze Tachinu in America

The Hollywood Reporter has tweeted word that Disney will distribute creator/director Hayao Miyazaki’s current Japanese hit anime film Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises) in North America. Production studio Ghibli has announced that producer Frank Marshall will supervise the recording of an English language dub for the film. Marshall executive produced the English dubs of Studio Ghibli’s Arrietty, Ponyo, and Poppy Hill.

Kaze Tachinu, a biography of Jiro Horikoshi, the designer of the WWII era Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter plane, has topped the Japanese box office for six straight weeks since its July 20 debut.
