Discotek Reveals New Acquisitions

Discotek has announced its acquisition of the 1996 Hurricane Polymar OVA series. Akiyuki Shinbo (Madoka Magica, Bakemonogatari) directed the two-episode remake of Toei’s classic 1974 TV series. Gatchaman & Casshan OVA series character designer Yasuomi Umetsu provided the character designs. Urban Vision released the series on American VHS in 1998. Discotek’s bilingual DVD release will include the New Generation Pictures’ dub produced for the VHS release.

Discotek has also revealed is domestic license for the 2008 Lupin III: Green vs Red OVA. The 40th anniversary commemorative episode pit the green jacket wearing Lupin of the 1971 TV series against the red jacket wearing Lupin of the 1977 TV series.
