Discotek Reveals New Acquisitions

Discotek has announced its acquisition of domestic distribution rights to the 2007 grim robot anime TV series Bokurano. Gonzo’s adaptation of Mohiro Kitoh’s manga depicts a group of children forced to pilot a giant robot to save the earth, but the cost of piloting the robot is one of the children’s lives each time the robot launches.

Discotek has acquired the third Lupin III TV special, “Napoleon’s Dictionary.” The 1991 TV movie will be released domestically in January.

Discotek has also license rescued the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers TV & OVA franchise and the 2001 Comic Party television series. Bandai Entertainment released the hybrid Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors series on DVD in 2002. Discotek will re-release the complete franchise in February. Discotek’s release of the TV series will be subtitled only. The OVAs will be released bilingually. Right Stuf initially released the Comic Party television series domestically in 2004. Discotek will rerelease the series in January.
