Diamond to Import New Anime Toys

Diamond Distributors will be import the die-cast Turn A Gundam figure to the US. The controversial mech, designed by Syd Mead of Blade Runner fame, stands 8″ tall and includes various hand-held weapons. Also included is a fully illustrated instruction manual, with Syd Mead’s design sketches of the mobile suit. The figure will retail for $75, and be available in September or October.

Diamond will also be importing a number of Votoms mecha from Kaiyodo. The figures include Brutish Dog and Strike Dog. The Brutish Dog is 6 1/2″ tall, fully poseable and features over 40 moving parts (both plastic and metal), including an opening cockpit (with pilot figure and detailed controls), and plenty of battle accessories. Two versions will be available covered in green and pink chrome! It will ship in its original Japanese window box packaging and retail for $74.99. Strike Dog, an all-new, articulated action figure stands 5″ tall and features a host of accessories- rocket launcher, opening claw arm, booster pack, and variant “fist” hand. It will retail for $17.99.

Diamond Distributors will be importing the second Kaiyodo/Xebec Trigun figure this September or October for $15.99. The Wolfwood figure carries a large cross wrapped in cloth and tied with belts. In actuality, this “cross” is a miniature arsenal that opens up nicely when unwrapped, the cross-plank is laden with pistols and the main shaft is a rather powerful machine gun.
