CPM Unofficial “Official” Announcements

Anime on DVD has re-printed some of the more noteworthy points mentioned in a recent AOL sponsored chat with the DVD production staff at Central Park Media. According to representatives from Central Park Media:

The Ah! My Goddess movie, in fact, has not yet been licensed for US translation or distribution.

There are no plans for a DVD release of Area 88 OAV episodes on DVD. CPM also does not have the DVD distribution rights for the second Yu Yu Hakusho movie, which they currently distribute on VHS.

More TV episodes of Utena should be available in the US later this year. Other CPM titles coming to DVD later this year include the Patlabor TV series, Night on the Galactic Railroad, RG Veda, and the Maze TV series.

Beginning July 1st, all anime DVDs released by CPM will include Japanese audio with optional English subtitles.
