Cameron To Do Mazinger?

Dark Horizons has posted a report that Kathryn Bigelow, director of James Cameron’s film Strange Days (1995), has revealed that Cameron has an advanced project in the works- a film remake of Mazinger Z. Also known as Tranzor Z, Mazinger is a classic giant robot series by Go Nagai. It seems an odd project for a big budget director considering some of the series elements that don’t mesh well with mainstream American sensibilities, including a female shaped robot with breast missiles, and a hermaphrodite villain.
