Battle Spirits Card Game to Get Anime & Manga

Bandai of Japan has announced plans to develop a multimedia franchise titled “Battle Spirits.” The Battle Spirits collectable card game, described as a “new generation of trading card game” that’s been in development at Bandai for three years, will debut on September 13th. Similar to Yu-Gi-Oh, Battle Spirits will involve player characters controlling supernatural animals and monsters in battle.

A manga story based on the Battle Spirits card game will premier on July 26 in Kerokero Ace Magazine, a children’s manga magazine published by Kadokawa Shoten.

Sunrise Studios is reportedly developing an anime television series based on the card game. The anime will debut later this year.
