Batman: Gotham Knight Nominated for Annie Awards

Batman: Gotham Knight has become the first Japanese animated work since 2005 to be nominated for the Annie Awards. The Annie Awards recognize outstanding achievement in animation screened or commercially released in the United States. The American written and Japanese animated anthology film will competing for the Best Animated Home Entertainment Production award. Composer Kevin Manthei has been nominated for an individual Music in an Animated Feature Production award.

Howl’s Moving Castle was nominated for an Annie Award 2005. The last Japanese production to win an Annie Award was Spirited Away, in 2003.
