Bandai to Sell “Life Sized” Gundams

Bandai has announced plans to create a line of “life sized” Gundam model kits that will stand close to 5 feet tall when assembled and weigh over 65 pounds. The first kit in the series will be a 1.5 meter tall Zaku (a real life sized Zaku would be 20.5 metres tall). The kit includes around 200 parts and features moveable head, arms and fingers. The kit will retail for 198,000 yen (approximately US $1,620), and will initially go on sale at the C3 Pre anime convention in Tokyo on the 26th. The kit will “officially” go on sale in Japan in December. Bandai hopes to sell 1,500 units and has plans to produce models of other Gundam mecha on the same size scale.
