The first story arc has previously only been available in America in condensed from through the first three Gundam movies. Gundam 0080, 0083, Saber Marionette J and Saber Marionette J-X should see DVD release in 2001. The retro series Z-Mind will be released domestically, possibly on television. The dubbed VHS and DVD releases of Escaflowne will be in eight volumes at $19.98 for VHS and $29.98 each for dub/sub DVD. Another report at Anime on DVD states, “They also showed us the Escaflowne Fox TV opening, and that was interesting. They didn’t dub the song but re-mixed their own opener which basically had a guy just singing Escaflowne throughout.” It was confirmed at the convention that Escaflowne will be edited for its TV broadcast, but the edits will be made by Fox Television and are entirely out of the control of Bandai Entertainment.
