AZN Network D.O.A.

The San Francisco Chronicle newspaper has learned that Comcast has basically canceled the AZN Network before the network even launched. The AZN Network was planned as a 24-hour television channel featuring unique original programming created by Asian Americans for Asian American viewers. The San Francisco Chronicle has learned that tentative network parent company Comcast has laid off “almost” 43 AZN employees. Apparently Comcast’s current broadcast of Asian oriented programming will continue, but Comcast will not be launching a specific television network of exclusively Asian programming.
