Anime Represented in Annie Awards Nominees

The nominations for the Hollywood based International Animated Film Society’s 32nd Annual Annie Awards include 5 anime related nominations.

Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence is eligable for consideration as Best Animated Feature.

Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence director Mamoru Oshii has been nominated for recognition as Best Director.

Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence animator Hisashi Ezura has been nominated for recognition for Best Animated Effects.

Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence composer Kenji Kawai has been nominated in the Best Music in an Animated Feature category.

Yoko Kanno has been nominated as best composer for her work in Wolf’s Rain in the Best Music in an Animated Television Production category.

Pixar’s The Incredibles leads the race with 16 Annie Award nominations. The Best Picture nominees are: Innocence, The Incredibles, Shrek 2, and SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

The 2004 Annie Awards will be presented on January 30, 2005.
