Viz Communications is currently in need of freelance comic book artists for lettering and touch-up assignments. Candidates need to have experience working with digital data and directly from art pages. Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator is also preferred. The Big Apple Anime Festival is seeking interns for the spring 2003 school semester. Internships can either be paid or for student credit. This is a great opportunity for students interested in marketing & sales and PR & event management. For fans of anime or animation, this is a chance to interact with industry members on a frequent basis.

The areas BAAF is looking for interns are as follows:

Programming & Events:
Secure all titles for video screening rooms & film festival by contacting anime publishers.
Secure guests of honor [anime industry professionals] from Japan and the US.
Develop ideas for panel discussions and secure guests needed for panels.
Develop all stages of events such as Cosplay, Music Video, DVD award, etc.
Develop schedules for each venue.
Provide general office support.

Marketing /PR & Sales:
Assist in all aspects of sales: dealer booths, program guide advertising & sponsorships.
Assist in putting together sales material and other office related duties.
Follow up calls and update websites.
Communicate on a regular basis w/ anime websites, anime clubs and website visitors.
Provide general office support.

Operations & Logistics:
Responsible for hiring and volunteers to cover all venues and positions.
Responsible for personnel schedule and placement.
Work closely with Programming & Events Coordinator to fulfill onsite staff needs.
Provide general office support.
