Ang Lee to Direct 007?

Pierce Brosnan has confirmed that he’s asked Ang Lee to direct Brosnan’s final film appearance as Agent 007 James Bond. In an interview with Britain’s Guardian newspaper, Brosnan suggested that Lee was interested in the project on the condition that he have ultimate control over the final edit of the film. “Final cut is a mighty thing to give up,” Brosnan told the newspaper. Apparently, although they want Lee to direct the film, neither Brosnan nor producers Barbara Brocolli and Michael G. Wilson are willing to agree to that degree to creative control over the film by the film’s director.
