American DVD Sales Declining

Home Media Retailing reports that American DVD sales for the first quarter of 2006 are down 4.3% compared to the same time last year, and rental spending is down 4.4%. The declines come after minimal DVD revenue growth in 2005. American DVD releases for first quarter 2006 also show a 14.3% decrease from the same time period last year.

The March 29th DVD Release Report reveals a 12.5% decrease in the number of anime DVDs released in America during the first quarter of 2006 compared to the same time period last year.
