Adult Swim Discusses Future Plans For Anime

The Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim has published a Q&A with programming director Kim Manning in which Manning reveals several of the network’s plans for anime:

Plans for Adult Swim to experiment with broadcasting subtitled anime have been canceled.

Adult Swim has no plans to license anime for original broadcast or distribution.

A third season of The Big O is unlikely due to less than stellar broadcast ratings and DVD sales of the second season.

Adult Swim has plans to expand its broadcast of American comedy animation, but anime must still be broadcast in late night hours, presumably due to its lesser popularity and success.

Adult Swim is currently negotiating with AD Vision for broadcast rights to another anime title.
