Manga Entertainment revealed at last weekend’s Anime Expo that Masami Obari’s cyberpunk action anime TV series Virus: Virus Buster Serge will be released on 3 DVD discs beginning this September. Bio-Booster Armor Guyver will premier on domestic DVD around December. The first 36 episodes of the Fist of the North Star TV series will be released on domestic DVD but Manga has no plans to license the remaining 150+ TV episodes for American release. “New Dominion Tank Police” (Crusher Police Dominion, the second OAV series) will be coming to domestic DVD “soon.” Giant Robo will be available on domestic DVD as soon as licensing issues are resolved. Astroboy has delayed because Steven Spielberg’s option for a live action movie prevents other companies from releasing any Astroboy related material on DVD.
