7th Eva Manga Completed

After a year’s wait the seventh volume of the Evangelion manga is nearing release in Japan from Kadokawa Shoten Publishing. Two limited “first-print” editions will be released, packaged with figures of Rei and Asuka.

Created by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who provided the character designs for the Evangelion animation, the Eva manga is an alternate version of the Evangelion story that differs from the TV animation.

Viz has been releasing the manga domestically in a standard edition that reads from left to right and in a “non-flipped” special edition that maintains the original Japanese right to left format. Presumably, now that more of the Eva manga has been completed in Japan, Viz will soon being to translate and release more of the series in America.
