6 Angels Finally Scheduled & Xevious Movie Announced

Originally scheduled for release in January 2001, and made partially available on the internet in pay-per-view streaming segments last year, the sci-fi/action anime movie 6 Angels will finally be released to Japanese theaters July 6th, distributed by new distribution company Garinpeiro. The film features an all star staff including character designer Hiromi Kato (Tenshi ni Narumon), mecha designer Makoto Kobayashi (ZZ Gundam, Giant Robo, Dragon’s Heaven), and mechanical designer Masuo Shouichi (Evangelion, Gunbuster, Gatekeepers).

The veteran cast includes:

Fumiko Orikasa (Meia in Vandread, Chiaki in NieA_7)
Neya Michiko (Rally in Gunsmith Cats, Melissa in Full Metal Panic)
Akemi Okamura (Nami in One Piece, Fio in Porco Rosso)
Mayumi Asano (Hisoka in Yami no Matsui, Renge of Z-Mind)
Yuri Amano (Alcione of Rayearth, Kiyone of Tenchi Muyo)

And on August 3rd Garinpeiro and Namco will be releasing an original CG rendered Xevious movie, based on the classic 1983 shooting game.
