2011 Anime Mirai Specials Trailer

The “Anime Mirai” training program for young animators has launched the first trailer for its 2011 specials. The Japan Animation Creators Association (JAniCA) selected four anime production studios to split 214.5 million yen ($2.65 million USD) from the Japanese government’s Agency for Cultural Affairs to produce anime specials directed by industry veterans and animated by professional animators-in-training. In 2010, anime studios Ascension, Telecom, P.A. Works, and Production I.G were selected. The 2011 works are:

“Buta,” from studio Telecom Animation Film; directed by Kazuhide Tomonaga
“Shiranpuri,” from studio Shirogumi; directed by Shinpei Miyashita
“Wasurenagumo,” from Production I.G; directed by Toshihisa Kaiya
“Puka Puka Juju,” from The Answer Studio; directed by Hiroshi Kawamata

The four shorts will get limited theatrical screenings this month before airing on Japanese television.
