New E3 Game Trailers Available

Planet Exile now hosts downloadable trailers for a number of anime-related games that Bandai promoted at the recent E3 convention: Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask, Gundam Seed Battle Assault, Digimon Racing and Digimon World 4.

AD Vision Announcements from Anime Central

At last weekend’s Anime Central convention, AD Vision announced its acquisition of translation and distribution rights to:

Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu? (possibly to be released in America under the title “Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu”)
Peacemaker Kurogane (apparently to be released in America under the title “Peacemaker”)
Gatchaman TV series

AD Vision representative David L. Williams also hinted that AD Vision has domestic distribution rights to the Chojushin Gravion Zwei TV series.

AD Vision Toys revealed plans to release 5 inch and 10 inch plush Menchi (Excel Saga) toys.

AD Vision will release the Gatchaman TV series from the beginning, in bilingual format. The edited American version G-Force will be broadcast on the Anime Network.

The limited edition version of the RahXephon movie will include a translated version of the 54 page booklet that came with the Japanese limited edition DVD, and a “hard” chipboard series collector’s box that will house the entire RahXephon TV series plus the movie.

The video on demand Anime Network service is now available in more than 10 million homes nationwide.

AD Vision again refused to confirm any plans to release Super GALS! Kotobuki Ran episodes 27-52.

Cream Lemon Live Action Movie?

The Japanese Hatena discussion board reports that a live action Cream Lemon movie is entering production for Japanese release this fall. Cream Lemon was one of the first hentai anime series, and the first adult anime series to achieve significant market success.

CPM Announces Yaoi Line

Central Park Media will launch its “Be Beautiful” line of translated yaoi manga this August. The Be Beautiful line will debut with the August 25th release of Golden Cain, by You Asagiri, and Kizuna: Bonds of Love Vol. 1, by Kazuma Kodaka. Both books will retail at $15.99 and will be labeled as recommended for readers age 18 and over only.

Manga Entertainment Acquired By IDT

Multinational telephone and technology company IDT Entertainment, the parent company of Anchor Bay Entertainment and several special effects studios, has purchased Manga Entertainment.

“In a little more than two years IDT Entertainment has established itself as a worldwide entertainment leader,” said Jim Courter, IDT’s CEO. “IDT Entertainment leads the world in primetime broadcast animation programming, and is quickly emerging as a top producer of animated feature films.
