Evangelion Game Trailer Online

Sega now hosts a streaming 1:37 Windows Media trailer for the Neon Genesis Evangelion interactive DVD game scheduled for release on June 2nd. The game is a slightly enhanced version of the first Shinseiki Evangelion game released for the Sega Saturn in 1996.

AnimeNation at JACON

AnimeNation and AN Entertainment representatives will be officially attending this weekend’s JACON anime convention in Orlando, Florida. As a result, there will be no update to the AnimeNation News Page tomorrow.

Upcoming DVD Details

Diamond Comics has revealed some sketchy details on anime DVD releases scheduled for release in August and September:

Viz will re-release the Video Girl Ai OAV series to DVD. Unlike the previous release from Pioneer, the new release will be on two DVDs retailing at $29.98 each.

Gundam Seed DVD volume 1 will contain 5 episodes and retail at $29.99 for the disc alone and $59.99 for the limited edition.

CPM will release the first of three Shootfighter Tekken (Kentoushi) OAVs on August 24th. The 45 minute long DVD will retail at $19.99.

On September 14th, Media Blasters will release the entire 12 episode Sentimental Journey “dating sim anime” TV series in a single, subtitled only DVD set retailing at $29.95.

Geneon Announces Captain Herlock DVD Box

Geneon has announced that Space Pirate Captain Herlock: The Endless Odyssey DVD volume 4 will be a double disc set including the final 3 OAV episodes and over 80 minutes of bonus material such as a full-length multi-angled storyboard, art gallery and interviews with Leiji Matsumoto and Rintaro.

The final Captain Herlock DVD will be released in a standard edition retailing at $29.98, and a $39.98 limited edition that includes a 4 disc collector’s box.

Production IG Announces New Anime

Production IG has announced that its latest production, Otogizoushi, a samurai anime TV series set in the Heian period (around 900 A.D.), will premier in July.

Media Blasters Announces New Acquisitions

Media Blasters has announced a number of new upcoming titles, including new acquisitions Urda, an exceptional Japanese fan produced digital animation series, and the Early Reins OAV.

New titles scheduled for September release include:

Urda, available on September 14th
Early Reins, available on September 28th
Sentimental Journey TV series episodes 1-12, subtitled only
Kite Special Edition (completely uncut, running roughly 20 seconds longer than the “Director’s Cut”)
the adult titles Sex Taxi (Kojin Taxi) and Elfina
and director Takeshi Miike’s 2002 yakuza film Deadly Outlaw Rekka (Violent Fire)

Anime Expo Announces New Guests

Anime Expo has announced that popular voice actor Tomokazu Seki and vocalist MIQ will attend the convention as guests of honor.

Seki’s roles have included Van in Escaflowne, Keisuke Takahashi in Initial D, and Kyo Soma in Fruits Basket.

MIQ has performed theme songs for anime series including Dunbine, Xabungle, L-Gaim, and Gundam 0083.
