Based on survey responses from 83 Japanese animators:<\/p>\n<p>The average work day is 10.2 hours.<br \/>\n26.8% of respondants earn less than 1 million yen (approx. $8,577) annually.<br \/>\n19.6% of respondants earn less than 2 million yen (approx. $17,154) annually.<br \/>\n18.6% of respondants earn less than 3 million yen (approx. $25,725) annually.<\/p>\n<p>80% of respondants are paid an average of 186.9 yen (approx. $1.60) per frame of animation drawn.<\/p>\n<p>78.4% of respondants claim that they &#8220;had pride&#8221; (&#8220;pride wo motteiru&#8221;) when they became professional animators, but 49.5% of respondants believe that the compensation for their work is unsatisfactory.<\/p>\n<p>Geidankyo spokesman Shigeru Yamato stated that the improvement of working conditions for Japan&#8217;s animators is an important problem to be addressed.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animenewsservice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Anime News Service<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Daily Yomiuri Newspaper has reported the findings of Japanese entertainment industry representation organization &#8220;Geidankyo&#8221; regarding the working conditions of average Japanese animators.
